Sunlight. I love what they do to pictures. They're instantly that much more interesting. I wish I had the time (and confidence) to take pictures outside everyday. Hope your week is off to a good start!

This Weekend...

I've been looking for a good read for a while, and my best friend recommended me The Hunger Games. My initial reaction was...eh. I had heard it was a teen book and wasn't too interested to pick it up. Needless to say I read it cover to cover this weekend and am already well on my way on getting the next two. When I wasn't reading it, I was with my mom celebrating her 50th birthday. My whole family got together, so I spent some time with younger cousins and eating delicious cake.

Busy Busy

Apologies for the unusually grainy photo. This week has been so long and crazy. It's been a serious struggle to snap pictures before jetting out the door for an action packed day.  Every morning I wake up and my eyes just do not want to open. I have a great affinity for sleep so I'll be getting a lot of that as soon as I make it through Friday.

Fancy

Oh, you fancy-huh? It seems like everyone can pull off the nice top with casual bottom look, but before I walked out the door I did a double, ok...maybe a triple take. Is it just too much of a contrast? This top looks especially shiny in person. Regardless of my staring in the mirror for an extra 10 minutes, I still decided to just do it and walked right out the door.

Blending In

These tights were slightly disappointing. I wanted a pair that were not black and thought grey was a good step in the right direction. They're a little too light, and I feel like at a glance it looked like I wasn't wearing any tights. They're also patterned which you can't tell from afar. Eh, oh well. I suppose that means I just have to invest in another pair.

This Weekend...

I've gotten used to living back home but this weekend just stirred all these feelings of nostalgia. Everything about college is so convenient. You make your own schedule, plan your own free time, don't have any real responsibilities, and your best friends probably live 3 feet away from you. For anyone who goes away for school (as I did), you really make a home out of a completely foreign place, and well- I've really missed this home...

Draping

FRIDAY- finally! This week went by super quickly, but I just know 3:15PM isn't going to come fast enough. Lots to do in the morning but then I'm off to meet friends for a long(ish) car ride that I'm actually excited for. Looking forward to just sitting, chatting, and most of all- relaxing. Restless

Ever have those nights where you just toss and turn and you can't seem to fall asleep? That's been me- all week. Keep thinking of all the million things I have to do for work before I can get away for the weekend. I'm going away for an alumni event, so I get to see all my college friends and visit all my old hangouts. I've been looking for a small escape and this may be the perfect one, here's hoping! All this excitement may be another reason for my sleepless nights...

Patterned Hearts

Picked up this tunic (dress?) at a Black Friday sale at H&M two years ago. Don't remember the exact price, but I know it very inexpensive and very worth it. This was one of those purchases where I forced myself to not get the black/white option. Looking back now, I'm so glad I went with this color option!

Day Off

Today was one of those days that makes going back to work that much harder. Got a workout in in the morning (very unexciting) and then met up with my best friend (very exciting). Work is going to pick up within the next couple of weeks which will make it hard to see friends, so I'm really glad I got to see her today. We did a round up the shops on Bleecker Street in the village- went into Bookmarc, played with the idea of getting Magnolia cupcakes, and ended up indulging in Chipotle instead. Pretty much a perfect day off.

This Weekend...

The freezing temperatures have finally set in, and I'm not liking it one bit. It makes walking outside unbearable and since that's my choice of transportation, you can imagine why it's so problematic. On Saturday, I grabbed lunch with my college roommates in midtown. Definitely don't see them as much as I'd like, and it's always a good time when we get together. We went to Stout-a sports pub. While none of us are the biggest sports fans, it has a great ambiance and good food. Sunday was a pretty lazy day- ran some errands and tried out new braiding techniques. Watched the Ravens and Giants games-amazing is all I have to say about that! And finally, made some hot chocolate and watched all the Golden Globes action.

Plum

This week has been so busy and crazy, I've barely had time to myself.  Busy always means the week flies by, and while I can't believe it's Friday- I am oh-so-happy it is! I'm looking forward to curling up in bed catching up on Thursday TV, mainly being The Vampire Diaries (guilty pleasure and the cast is very easy on the eyes) and Grey's Anatomy.
